Kulim Local Youth Prayer Gathering

Hi, Marcus and Joshua I here.

We've decided to change how the blog works. Today we had LYPG and 7 people attended. For the first time in LYPG Kulim history, we prayed for 50 minutes non-stop.

We started out with watching the MYPG anniversary video. We had a short worship session after that. There was no sharing today, instead we focused mainly on praying. Our theme this week was "Hunger for God".

After spending some time seeking the Lord and inviting Him and also confessing our sins, we entered a time of intercession for our families, friends, the Church, our nation and the nations of the world. As we prayed, lightning came..

Joshua I :

While praying our non-Christian friends, God gavc Deut 11:1 " ¹ Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always."

Rachel :

While praying through scripture, God gave Habbakuk 1:1-4

' ² How long, O LORD, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, "Violence!"
but you do not save?

³ Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrong?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.

⁴ Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.

Marcus confirmed this with what happened during his school assembly when his headmistress lashed out accusations at Israel.

Nadine :

Received Psalm 41 during praying through the scriptures.

¹ Blessed is he who has regard for the weak;
the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.

² The LORD will protect him and preserve his life;
he will bless him in the land
and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.

³ The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed
and restore him from his bed of illness.

⁴ I said, "O LORD, have mercy on me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you."

⁵ My enemies say of me in malice,
"When will he die and his name perish?"

⁶ Whenever one comes to see me,
he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander;
then he goes out and spreads it abroad.

⁷ All my enemies whisper together against me;
they imagine the worst for me, saying,

⁸ "A vile disease has beset him;
he will never get up from the place where he lies."

⁹ Even my close friend, whom I trusted,
he who shared my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.

¹⁰ But you, O LORD, have mercy on me;
raise me up, that I may repay them.

¹¹ I know that you are pleased with me,
for my enemy does not triumph over me.

¹² In my integrity you uphold me
and set me in your presence forever.

¹³ Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel,

Marcus :

While praying for the hearts of the attendees of thePlan09 to be in tune with God's will saw:

- A pair of hands kneading dough

- A blacksmith pouring out refined gold into casts and moulds

While praying through scriptures, received Jeremiah 2:12-13

¹² Be appalled at this, O heavens,
and shudder with great horror,"
declares the LORD.

¹³ "My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Overall, LYPG today was refreshing and rejunvenating. It was also an exciting time of prayer as we finally heard God speak to us. Next LYPG will be held next Friday at

New beginnings...

The 19th Kulim LYPG was held yesterday at Emmanuel Word Center. The people who attended were:

Yesterday's LYPG was a bit different. We had a waiting on the Lord session, and a repentance session. The Word given was:

1. 2 Tim 2
2. Joshua Immanuel saw outstretched hands towards us while we were praying.

We see this as a sign of a new beginning and a new start for the Kulim LYPG group.

The next LYPG will be on the 19/6(Friday) at EWC (1.30pm - 3.40pm).

10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th LYPG

Hi guys! I'm really sorry for the long silence. Here is the update.

The 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th LYPGs were held over the course of the previous 5 Friday afternoons at EWC. The people who attended are listed below.

9th LYPG..

9th LYPG was held last Saturday morning at EWC. A total of 7 people were present for the prayer gathering that day.

We started off with worship. Rachel did the sharing for the week and based her sharing on Faith. Priscilla facilitated the prayer for the state of Perak, Nadine facilitated the prayer requests from the PrayerBox. I facilitated prayer for the different LYPGs.

All in all, we had a good time of fellowship. God's presence was strong, and we thank Him for His grace and mercy.

7th LYPG was held today at FGAOG Kulim. A total of 11 people were present for the prayer gathering today.

The prayer session started at 12.00 noon, ended at 1.10pm. We started off with worship. Prisila shared on the topic Forgiveness.

Notes:
- God's forgiveness is His gift to us. (Acts 2:22-23)
- God's forgiveness is for everyone. (Luke 1:50)
- God's forgiveness has no limits. (Psalms 103:12)

Reflection:
1. Is there any particular person or group of people whom I find hard to forgive?
2. Why is it hard for me to forgive them?

We tried a new way of prayer called CIP (Creative and Innovative Prayer.) This is to cultivate interest towards prayer and spice up our fellowship. This week, the featured CIP was The Prayer Game.

We then saw the Mercy Project video by FGA Cheras, and discussed our LYPG theme for 2009 - Project LOVE - Living Our Virtues Everyday. (based on 1 Cor 13:13). We had a time of waiting upon the Lord and corporate prayer as well as a short time of repentance.

The presence of the Lord was strong in our midst, and the fellowship with each other was good. We thank the Lord for His grace and mercy.

6th LYPG was held today at Emmanuel Word Center. A total of 9 people were present for the prayer gathering today.

The prayer session started at 2.00pm, ended at 3.30pm. We started off with worship. No sharing was done. Instead, we discussed a suitable day for our LYPGs, and some new prayer initiatives were introduced (prayer box, prayer marker etc.).
We prayed for the Kuantan mMYPG, Kulim and our prayer group.

The presence of the Lord was strong in our midst, and the fellowship with each other was good. We thank the Lord for His grace and mercy.

5th LYPG..

5th LYPG was held today at Nicole Tan's residence. A total of 7 people joined the prayer gathering today.

From Kulim there were :

The prayer session started at 2.30pm, ended at 3.30pm. We started off with the Christmas story and remembering the birth of our Lord and Saviour.We then had a time of worship and waiting upon the Lord.

Prisila facilitated the prayer for the Kuantan mMYPG and the Lord's hand to be on the leaders. Titus led the prayer for the Lord's favour on LYPG and the increase of Christians in our midst and for Kulim and her communities. Nicole led the prayer for the economic recession. Cindy led the prayer for our 2 LYPGers (Nicole and Titus) as they are going to the NS camp from tomorrow till March 11th.

The presence of the Lord was strong in our midst, and the fellowship with each other was good.

Thus concludes 5 LYPGs for the month of December. This has only been achieved by God's grace and mercy. Praise and glory be to God!

Kulim-Alor Setar LYPG Video Report..

The 1st Kulim-Alor Setar LYPG took place on 19th Dec 2008, at Full Gospel Church, Alor Setar. A total of 7 youths from the Kulim LYPG team took a trip north to Alor Setar to gather with the Impactors(FGC Youths) to pray.

4th LYPG..

4th LYPG was held on Friday at Full Gospel Church, Alor Setar. A total of 26 people were in attendance.

From Kulim there were :

the remaining were the FGC Youth, Impactors.

The youth leaders of each church (8 in total) met at 1.00pm to discuss and share info on the upcoming MYPG 2.

The prayer session started at 2.00pm, ended at 3.25pm. We had a time of worship and waiting upon the Lord. Sharing was based on "How MYPG/LYPG has changed our lives." which was done by the Kulim LYPG team. The MYPG Report video, the mMYPG Kuantan video and the PJKL LYPG video were shown to the youths in Alor Setar as part of the sharing.

Celina (FGC Youth Assistant) facilitated the prayer on repentance. Youth Leader Phoebe led the prayer for the salvation of the Malay community in our nation.

The presence of the Lord was strong in our midst, and the fellowship with each other was good.

Thank God for His grace and His presence.

3rd LYPG was held yesterday at Kulim Wesley Methodist Church. A total of 6 people were in attendance.

We started at 4.15pm, ended at 5.20am. We had a short worship before a time of sharing. Sharing was based on Luke 7:36-47, the theme was How much do I love Jesus. After that, each one spent some time in silence, checking their relationship between them and God. Prisilla Tan facilitated the time of prayer.

Among the scriptures received were:
1. Matthew 5:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The presence of the Lord was strong in our midst, and the time we had with other was good.

Thank God for His grace and His presence.

2nd LYPG..

2nd LYPG was held today at Emmanuel Word Center. 4 people came, but we still had an awesome time.

We started at 9.20am, ended at 10.35am. We had a short worship before a time of sharing. Sharing was based on Proverbs 29:18, the theme was Importance of Visions. After that, each one sat by him/herself, and spent some alone time with God, seeking Him and His will. Nicole Tan facilitated the time of prayer.

Among the scriptures received were:
1. Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Although there were only a few of us, but we had a great time. We really felt the presence of the Lord with us. I'm grateful to those who attended.

Thank God for His grace and His presence today.

1st LYPG..

1st LYPG in Kulim took off smoothly today at Emmanuel Word Center. A total of 7 people were present.

We started at 9.15am, ended at 10.20am. The prayer meet started with worship. We then had a time of confession. We split into 2 groups, boys and girls. We confessed our sins to each other and prayed together.

Among the scriptures received were:
1. Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

2. Eph 3:20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]

I believe the 1st LYPG in Kulim took off quite well, thanks to God. The others agreed thru prayer that it is important for fellowship among youths in Kulim.
